This is a quick guide for setting up an unlocked Uniden UIP1868 to work with FonoSIP.com. If you are interested in buying a UIP1868, we recommend VoIP Supply.

1. Ensure that your UIP1868 is reset to factory defaults. There is a small pin hole reset button on the back of the unit.
2. Plug in a laptop/desktop into the LAN port on the back of the UIP1868, the factory defaults will assign an IP address to your machine in the 192.168.15.x and the IP address of your UIP1868 will be: 192.168.15.1
3. Open your favorite web browser and go to: http://192.168.15.1 . The username is: admin and the default password is: UnidEn79! (you would be amazed how hard it is to find this information anywhere)
4. Onced logged in you will need to setup the SIP settings, so click "SIP"at the top of the screen. Now modify the following settings:

   Address	FonoSIP.com
   Port:	5060
   Outbound Proxy Settings
   Address:	Leave Blank
   Port:	5060
   Registrar IP Settings
   Address:	FonoSIP.com
   Port:	5060
   Gateway Settings
   Phone Number	Your SIP Number (i.e. 812345)
   Business ID	Your SIP Number (i.e. 812345)
   CallerID Name	For Internal Calls Only
   Port	5060
   AEC	On
   CID	On
   Username	Your SIP Number (i.e. 812345)
   Password	Secret from FonoSIP.com

   
   
5. Make sure you click "Save SIP Settings"
6. Unplug the ethernet cable from the UIP1868 and your laptop and plug the phone into your local network and then into the WAN port. Your phone should now be registering with FonoSIP.com. Once the registration is complete, the UIP1868 will do a half ring. You can validate registration by picking up the handset and ensuring you have dialtone and making a call.
7. One more thing you will want to do is in your extension configuration make sure the UIP1868 config has: dtmfmode=auto, otherwise you will not be able to check your voicemail or do any other in call dtmf tones (such as interacting with IVRs, etc).
